What is Cloud Computing

Today, we are starting a new journey with this blog series where we cover various topics related to Cloud Computing like meaning, types, advantages, deployment methods.

So, let’s get started.

What is cloud computing, in simple terms?

Cloud computing is the delivery of on-demand computing services to the user over the internet including storage, databases, servers, software, analytics, networking, and intelligence services. Cloud computing relies on the sharing of resources to manage consistency and economies of scale. It may be limited to a single group (enterprise clouds) or be available to many groups (public cloud).

Deployment Methods of cloud computing

There are four deployment methods of Cloud Computing that vary as per requirements. Users can choose any among them which suits them the most.

Deployment Methods:

Public cloud

Public clouds are owned by third-party service providers, which provide their computing resources like servers and storage to users over the internet. All hardware, software, and other infrastructure are supported by owned and managed by the cloud provider.

Private cloud

A private cloud refers to the resources used by a single business or industry. Some of the companies also pay third-party service providers to host their private cloud.

Hybrid cloud

Hybrid clouds connect both public and private clouds to make the bound together by technology that allows data and applications to be shared between them. By allowing data and applications to move between private and public clouds, a hybrid cloud gives your business greater adaptability, more deployment options, and helps to optimize your existing infrastructure, protection, and compliance.

Community Cloud

The organizations from the specific community share the same infrastructure between them with common concerns such as compliance, security, jurisdiction, etc. which is managed internally or by a third-party, and either hosted externally or internally. and the costs are spread over users.

Types of cloud computing services

These three cloud computing services provide various levels of authority, flexibility, and management handling, etc so that you can select the right set of assistance for your requirements.

Advantages of cloud computing

Cloud computing is a big transformation from the traditional way of businesses to think about Information Technology workloads. Few advantages are listed below:

  1. Cost
  2. Speed
  3. Global Scale
  4. Productivity
  5. Performance
  6. Reliability
